Marty Hall Baseball

Marty Hall

Marty, who was born and raised in Victoria, BC, fondly remembers his early days in baseball, particularly the moment he pitched for the 1983 National Junior Baseball team. His ultimate goal was to pursue a career in professional baseball. He began his journey at Centralia College and later continued at Cochise College. He was signed by the Oakland Athletics in 1985.

Taleesha Hall

Taleesha’s connection to baseball began in infancy, spending countless hours around the ballpark watching her dad, Marty, play. She began her own baseball journey at Gordon Head Baseball before transitioning to Carnarvon Baseball Club and continued playing there until early high school. Notably, she played on Carnarvon’s Bantam AA team, the Victoria Eagles Bantam AAA team, and represented Team BC playing in the 2015 Western Canada Baseball Association Championships in Saskatchewan, and then again in Baseball Canada’s 16U National Championships in Ontario.

Since hanging up her cleats, Taleesha has devoted herself to coaching, using her experience to help mentor the next generation of players. She has been involved with Pro Way Baseball, helping with player development in the Pro Way Winter Clinics for the last 5 years and helping run assessments for youth teams in Victoria.

Cody Newberry

Cody is a distinguished athlete, originally from Calgary, Alberta, who relocated to Victoria at a young age, where he embarked on his baseball career. He began playing for the Junior Premier Victoria Mariners in 2011 and subsequently advanced to the 18U AAA Selects and the Premier Victoria Mariners from 2012 to 2013. Following his high school education, he accepted a scholarship to Dakota College, a junior college in North Dakota, from 2013 to 2015, where he excelled as a Pitcher/Infielder and earned Second Team All-Academic honors in his conference.

 With more than 25 years of extensive experience in the sport of baseball, Cody possesses a deep wealth of knowledge and expertise. His comprehensive background in the game is further augmented by his dedication to the development of young athletes. He has completed coaching training with Baseball Canada and holds Level 3 certification. Cody has showcased his skills by coaching at Pro Way Baseball’s winter clinics and has recently served as a coach for Baseball BC. Additionally, he spent several years as an assistant coach for the 15U AAA Victoria Seawolves.

 Cody’s coaching philosophy emphasizes the cultivation of well-rounded, resilient players by focusing on their technical skills, mental fortitude, discipline, and teamwork. His playing experience provides him with valuable insights into the strategies and complexities of the game, making him an indispensable asset in guiding young athletes on their baseball journeys.

Ty Humber

Ty’s passion for sports began at a young age when he started playing baseball with the Carnarvon Ball Club. His journey in baseball led him to compete at the 13U AAA and 15U AAA levels with the Victoria SeaWolves, and he eventually concluded his baseball career with the Victoria Eagles.

Ty’s dedication to the sport is evident through his long-term training with Pro Way, which he started at the age of nine. In addition to baseball, Ty is an active basketball player. He was awarded the Island MVP in 2024 and recognized as the Athlete of the Year for Oak Bay High School. His commitment and skills enabled him to join the Pro Way coaching staff in 2022, where he continues to contribute to the development of young athletes.

Dustin Robirtis

Dustin grew up in Victoria B.C. Baseball didn’t start to take off for him until training with Pro Way. After traveling the USA and playing in numerous travel team tournaments Dustin was offered a scholarship to play at Colorado Mesa University.

Kane Humber

 

Kane has been immersed in the world of sports from an early age. He began his baseball journey with the Carnarvon Ball Club, advancing from Blastball to 11U, and subsequently earning a spot on the 11U AAA and then the 13U AAA teams with the SeaWolves. During his final year with the 13U AAA team, Kane and his teammates qualified for Nationals, ultimately finishing second in Canada.

Throughout his baseball career, Kane has demonstrated a strong commitment to continuous improvement, dedicating much of his time to training with Pro Way. In 2023, he took the initiative to share his expertise and passion by embarking on a coaching journey. In addition to baseball, Kane is actively engaged in a variety of sports and finds great satisfaction in assisting and motivating players to reach their full potential. He is devoted to making a positive impact and helping aspiring athletes develop both their skills and their love for sports.

Kyle Horne

Kyle was born and raised in Victoria, BC. He has played high ranks of baseball since the age thirteen. He has also been training with Pro Way since the age of eight, and has also trained with likes of Alan Mauthe (Boston Red Sox Hitting Coach)
